Nice to meet you.

Since you were wondering …

I believe that there’s no such thing as wasted experience. Each skill I’ve learned in my long, varied career positively impacts every other, no matter how seemingly disconnected.

My experience as a writer means I ensure each software application I work on is driven by a strong narrative thread where the user is the protagonist.

My experience as an editor means I pay attention to the big picture & the details.

When I write about a subject, I consider how the underlying, hidden components affect what’s visible thanks to my knowledge of the inner workings of software & product design.

Thanks to the sewing & gardening I do, I pay attention to how things must be constructed to come together successfully. I learn the optimal conditions for growth & thriving — but I can also quickly adapt when optimal conditions (inevitably) can’t be met.

Even my experience as a parent means I can juggle multiple demands at once, ride the waves of ambiguity with ease, & navigate conflict with diplomatic aplomb — things that come quite in handy when leading globally distributed Experience design & strategy teams as an Global Team Director.

Otherwise, I'm crafty … & crafty. I’m a world-traveling homegirl & a restless relaxer. I'm solar-powered & love warm places. I’m a lifelong bookworm & a writer, primarily about one of my favorite subjects: food. I’m also a New Orleans native, who took a 17-year detour in New York & now lives in Austin, Texas. (See: warm places.)
